Nuclear EMP Enclosures and Bunkers Testing

Nuclear EMP Enclosures and Bunkers Testing

In order to protect critical operations from effects of Nuclear EMP, the equipment is housed in Nuclear EMP protected enclosures which may be installed underground. These however need to be tested periodically for shielding effectiveness to ensure that these are indeed Nuclear EMP safe. They must be hardened to provide at least 80 dB attenuation in the plane wave field from 10 MHz to 1.5 GHz and magnetic attenuation of 2 dB at 1 kHz rising to 80 dB at 10 MHz in accordance with MIL-STD-125-1 and -2.
EMR Division, BNN is NABL/17025 accredited to undertake Shielding Effectiveness measurements as per MIL-STD-125-1 and -2.
