Several types of material are used EMC applications like gaskets and seals (tested as per MIL DTL 83258C), Screens, Radar Absorbent Materials, PVC sheets etc. These need to be tested for Shielding Effectiveness prior their use.
BNN has a Shield room with test slot of 500mmx500mm where a sample can be installed and tested for shielding upto 100dB. Alternately, the material could be installed by the customer and testing can be undertaken on site. The test standards vary based on the material. Test frequencies and locations are selected based on the standard and customer requirements.
